A grey day.

The sun in Vancouver has taken sometime off so we are back to grey and chilly days.
It was a fun weekend. The Emerica team was in town for Go Skateboarding Day. I have to say it has been awhile since I have had a fun day on my skateboard but rolling down the middle of the street surrounded by skaters and bringing traffic to a stop was pretty amazing.

This weekend saw the release of Brandon Beibel’s Battle Commander video over at The Berrics. It’s a pretty sweet video. Momentum did a Berric’s collaboration for the launch of the video. I put this wheel together last week.

Another nice week start showed up in my inbox this afternoon. It was a photo from Matthew Minolaio. He got “Versus” inked this weekend. Looks good Matthew.

Dazed and Confused just posted an interview I did with them. These days most of my interviews are done over email. This one was done on the phone, which is a nice change. The interviewer Evan called me from Seoul so he was just going to bed and I was just waking up. It’s interesting to see how ones words come across when interpreted by another’s hand and how your days are summed up by someone who has never met you.

I sometimes love the random comments you get when things are posted online with a comments section. As in the one above. Thanks for the feed back Joe. I have to say I don’t 100% disagree with him.

For some reason I have had a real spike in online interviews lately. I’m not trying to toot my own horn. I just figure I would post them as I’m guessing you might be half interested if you’re stopping by this website. Except if you are “joe”, I don’t want him to loose his lunch or dinner or whatever…baby corn salad maybe?

giraffe tat

Found this photo thanks to a myspace tag. This tattoo has some sort of connection to “The Devil Wears Prada”, not the movie, the band (who is rather popular according to their myspace downloads, anybody heard of them?).
On a similar note I would love it if people who had my art tattooed on them sent me a photo of it. Doesn’t matter if it’s a stick and poke or a super pro job. If it’s in your skin I wanna see it.

It was announced the other day that Momentum Wheel Co. has partnered up with Blitz Dist. It’s pretty exciting to have a major distributor get behind the brand. The site has been revamped and new stuff will be posted in the coming weeks. They have posted the new wheels for this spring.

I did this pencil series but Momentum also asked Toronto’s own Dennis Chow to contribute a series. Pretty stoked to get him in the mix.

Also included in the spring release is the talented Esao Andrews he did the graphics for the eco wheel. Esao has been making really interesting and well crafted skateboard graphics for a few years now, as well he is an amazing painter.

Photographer Jeremy R.Jansen just posted some photos of Mr.Niall McClelland installing is show “Losers” at the Emporium Gallery in Montreal. I’m sure it was a banger.
I unfortunately have spent the past week locked in my house dealing with 2008 taxes. I gotta tell you it’s fun stuff kids and then my cellphone starts giving me the finger.

This is the second Samsung to go on the fritz in less than 5 months. I’m going back to Nokia that much I know. Hope I don’t leave that one in a cab or crush it falling off my bike or get it stolen. Maybe my current Samsung is seeking revenge for it’s lost and murdered brothers.
I gotta get some food, stress isn’t a filing breakfast.
